Garages just don't seem big enough these days for cars, bikes, the lawn mower, the snow blower, garbage cans, recycling bins, plus all your garden tools and supplies. That's why a backyard shed has become more of a necessity than a luxury.
Our 8' x 10' Tool Storage Shed has plenty of storage space, and we've added 42 square feet of additional loft storage space. The 5' wide door opening at the front and a window at the back let in lots of light.
Overall dimensions are 98½" (W) x 121½" (D) x 123½" (H). It's built on a platform of 2 x 4s resting on three 4 x 4 skids. Standard 2 x 4 wall framing and roof construction make up the rest of the building. The plan has special instructions for framing the walls, cutting the rafters, and installing the asphalt roof shingles. There are also special sections for building a removable ramp and a built-in workbench.
